  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water and butter, and bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Let cool for 5 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Pipe the mixture into rings on parchment paper.
  5. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
  6. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and pureed strawberries until smooth.
  7. Dip cooled crullers into the glaze and allow to set.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with heavy cream in the glaze.
  • Make sure to cool crullers completely before glazing.
