- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
- In a saucepan, combine water and butter, and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Pipe the mixture into rings on parchment paper.
- Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and pureed strawberries until smooth.
- Dip cooled crullers into the glaze and allow to set.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with heavy cream in the glaze.
