  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
  5. Using a spoon, drop the batter into the hot oil in small rounds.
  6. Fry until golden brown, flipping halfway through, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Remove beignets from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
