- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup red food coloring
- 1/4 cup green food coloring
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and extracts, mixing well.
- Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the dough into two portions. Color one portion with red food coloring and the other with green.
- Roll out each portion between sheets of parchment paper into rectangles.
- Stack the green layer on top of the red layer and roll into a log.

- Slice the log into cookies and bake for 10-12 minutes.
