  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine sourdough starter, warm milk, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla.
  2. Mix in the eggs, followed by flour and salt. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Roll tightly and cut into rolls. Place in a baking dish.
  6. Allow the rolls to rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make the frosting, and drizzle over warm rolls.
