- 2 pounds fresh strawberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then place them on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the strawberries with half of the sugar and roast in the oven for about 20 minutes.
- Let the strawberries cool, then mash them with a fork.
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Add the roasted strawberries and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
