  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. In another bowl, mix the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Dot with cream cheese, then cover with the remaining batter.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before inverting onto a serving plate.
