  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. In a separate pan, cook the ground beef until browned and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl to create the secret sauce.
  4. Assemble the patty melts by placing the cooked beef and sautéed onions between two slices of rye bread with Swiss cheese.
