  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 jars marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a large bowl, mix cooked ziti, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Add in the beef mixture and stir well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  8. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
