- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 jars marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked ziti, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Add in the beef mixture and stir well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
