A delicious recipe for making the juiciest roast turkey with a sweet maple butter glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 turkey, about 12-14 pounds
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry with paper towels.
  3. In a bowl, combine the melted butter, maple syrup, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Brush the glaze all over the turkey, making sure to get it under the skin as well.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil for the final 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to brown.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part.
  9. Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Make sure to use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
  • Feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices to the glaze for extra flavor.
