- 1 turkey, about 12-14 pounds
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, combine the melted butter, maple syrup, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
- Brush the glaze all over the turkey, making sure to get it under the skin as well.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
- Roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil for the final 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to brown.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part.
- Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Make sure to use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices to the glaze for extra flavor.
