- 1 loaf of bread (preferably a soft white bread)
- 200 grams cream cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- Slice the loaf of bread horizontally and vertically to create a grid, being careful not to cut through the bottom.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture generously between the slices and on top of the bread.
- If using, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the bread.
- Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and place it on a baking tray.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bread is hot and the cheese is melted. Unwrap and bake for an additional 5 minutes for a crispy finish.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the cream cheese mixture.
- Can be made ahead and wrapped tightly before baking.
