  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 4 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  3. Brown the beef chuck roast on all sides.
  4. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and beef broth. Pour over the roast.
  5. Cover and braise in the oven for about 3 hours, or until tender.
  6. Once cooked, remove the roast and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  7. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water to thicken the sauce if necessary.
  8. Serve the sliced roast with sauce and garnish with green onions.
