2 cups cooked orzo
1 pound chicken breast, cooked and shredded
1 onion, diced
2 tablespoons butter
1 can French onion soup
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add the diced onion. Sauté until caramelized.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked orzo, shredded chicken, caramelized onions, French onion soup, mozzarella cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in some fresh herbs such as thyme or parsley.
