- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
- Let the dough rise in a warm area for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Grease a deep-dish pizza pan and press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
- Layer mozzarella cheese, cooked sausage, bell pepper, and onion on the dough.
- Pour marinara sauce over the top, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, oregano, and basil.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serve warm.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit the sausage and add additional vegetables.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven for best results.
