  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm area for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  5. Grease a deep-dish pizza pan and press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
  6. Layer mozzarella cheese, cooked sausage, bell pepper, and onion on the dough.
  7. Pour marinara sauce over the top, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, oregano, and basil.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the sausage and add additional vegetables.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven for best results.
