  • 1 pound sausage (preferably breakfast sausage)
  • 1 loaf bread, cubed
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, cooked sausage, celery, onion, apples, broth, butter, and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the crock pot and cover.
