  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Season the roast with salt and black pepper, and brown it on all sides.
  4. Remove the roast and add onions and garlic; sauté until soft.
  5. Stir in beef broth, French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
  6. Add the roast back to the pot and cover it.
  7. Transfer to the oven and cook for 3-4 hours until tender.
