  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Fill each muffin liner halfway with batter, sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top, and then add more batter to fill the liners.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. For the glaze, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  9. Once the muffins are cooled, drizzle the glaze on top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a dash of nutmeg to the batter.
  • Feel free to substitute almond milk for a dairy-free option.
