2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Gradually stir in the flour and salt until well combined.
Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
Spread the cherry pie filling over the dough.
Drop the remaining dough by spoonfuls over the cherry filling.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
