  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 100 grams cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 slices bread
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the spices (cumin, coriander, chili powder, turmeric) and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in the kidney beans and mash slightly; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  7. Meanwhile, toast the bread slices.
  8. Once the beans are cooked, sprinkle the grated cheese on top and let it melt.
