  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then gradually blend in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and spices.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into even slices.
  8. Place slices in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Make icing by mixing powdered sugar with a little milk until smooth, drizzle over warm rolls.
