  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 8 pieces chicken (legs and thighs)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 waffles (store-bought or homemade)
  • maple syrup (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Brine the chicken in buttermilk, salt, pepper, and paprika for at least 2 hours.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Coat each piece of chicken in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 15 minutes.
  6. Toast waffles until golden.
  7. Serve the chicken on top of the waffles and drizzle with maple syrup.
