Boston Cream Cake

A decadent dessert featuring layers of cake, cream, and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  5. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  6. Pour batter into prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool completely.
  9. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  10. Spread cream between the layers of cake.
  11. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use vanilla bean instead of extract.
  • Store in a cool place to maintain freshness.
